Cisco Systems Inc’s central networking business on Thursday took its first rung on the ladder in to the market of membership services, announcing a collection of new security and automation tools for big businesses.

This new “intuitive network” signifies a significant change in how Cisco creates earnings from its flagship business. The San Jose company has been reliant on the sales of networking equipment that routes traffic on the internet.
