According to reports, YouTube allows premium users to download videos online and watch them offline. It has been available to YouTube mobile users for a while and is now also available to network users. Currently still being tested, YouTube offers video downloads in the desired resolution up to 1080p and currently only for premium users. YouTube Web will soon receive support for offline video downloads.
Download YouTube videos offline
While you can watch most videos on YouTube for free, you will always need an active internet connection to do so. Hence, most of the users use various tools to download videos to local storage and view or share them later to fix this problem.
As this leads to an increase in piracy, YouTube itself has introduced an offline download option which saves videos in the YouTube download area. However, it was previously only available on the YouTube mobile client and will soon be available in the web version.

As can be seen from Android Police, some premium users in India, France and the US have seen a new option to redirect their pages to the YouTube Lab, where they can allow video downloads. Once done, the options will appear in the order of the Share and Playlist buttons.
According to an image shared by an authorized person, the feature will only be available until October 19 and will only work in the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, or Opera browsers. Users download videos at resolutions up to 1080p (though videos of 1440p or higher can be streamed).
And the downloaded videos will play in a special local area which you should pay attention to at youtube.com/feed/downloads. You can also clear everything together in the site cache to free up space. While premium users on the network are testing this out, it has been available to all mobile users for quite some time.
