Shuntaro Furukawa, CEO of Nintendo Co. Ltd, said on Friday that the game company has no plans to launch a new switch model this year, and pressured rumors that it would offer the latest version of the hit device.

Nintendo only released the manual version of the console in September, which sparked demand to switch at the end of this year’s shopping season.

The Kyoto-based company has long been rumored to be preparing a revised version of the hybrid laptop for home use, which will be launched towards the end of the third year of the market.

The company’s shares are traded in Tokyo by almost 5%, the lowest since early November. The reference index is 1.4%.

Furukawa’s comments came a day after the company raised its estimated sales switch for the year-end March from the previous 18 million units to 19.5 million units, with new figures considered conservative by many analysts.

Nintendo sold 17.7 million units in the first nine months to December. Switches sold a total of more than 52 million units. The publication of the title Animal Crossing at the end of March should contribute to increased sales.

Mobile games continue to be a small part of Nintendo’s sales and slowly enter the market due to aggressive monetization of games, which are often found in competing titles, are low.

According to Furukawa, the cellular business has the function of increasing customer loyalty with Nintendo’s character list, using language that worries some investors that this is a higher priority than increasing sales.

“We don’t know how Nintendo sees this business. Do you want to continue? There is no visibility,” wrote mobile business analyst Jeffries Atul Goyal in a note before the briefing. Reuters
